Babylon's Fall is an action RPG developed by Platinum Games and published by Square Enix. The game was first announced during E3 in 2018 and has been in quiet development since. An short preview was shown during E3 2021, and a Closed Beta Test was announced to be happening in July / August 2021.
Babylon's Fall Overview
Babylon's Fall is an upcoming Action-RPG by PlatinumGames, creators of high-octane action games including Bayonetta, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and Astral Chain. Originally announced during E3 2018, Babylon's Fall features a brand new universe in a high fantasy setting with an emphasis on fast-paced, stylish combat that PlatinumGames is known for. Babylon's Fall is another collaboration between Platinum Games and publishing giant Square Enix, who had previously worked together on the critically acclaimed Nier: Automata. During the E3 2021 Square Enix Presents showcase, Babylon's Fall was revealed to be a live-service multiplayer title that will continue to grow with additional content added in post-launch updates. The new trailer features co-operative gameplay with up to 4 players and showcases combat with a range of weaponry including swords, hammers, bows and magic staves. Each player will also have a 'Gideon Coffin', a magical device attached to their backs that will not only allow for a diverse set of gameplay and combat mechanics, but will also tie heavily into the game's storyline.
Babylon's Fall Description
Join a group of warriors bonded with special equipment called Gideon Coffins in an odyssey to overcome the titanic Tower of Babylon. Wield unique weapons in both hands, and use the power of the Gideon Coffin, allowing for combinations of up to four weapons at once. The capabilities of different equipment will also bring endless strategic variation to combat. Game visuals are achieved using a newly developed “brushwork style” to create a unique fantasy setting with a medieval oil painting aesthetic. Play in co-op online multiplayer for up to 4 players. The game will feature a range of game modes post launch at no additional cost.
